I have a couple of long planters hanging from my back porch that I plant herbs in during the summer.  Last summer I was snipping some cilantro and my neighbor (who is older and well educated) had no idea what it was and was so surprised to hear it would keep growing! lol….  Herb gardens are very easy to take care of…just keep it watered and in full sun.  Snip away what you need and it’ll keep growing, I promise.

Today, I set out the plants I had bought and asked my girls to smell them and tell me what they thought they were.  It was a great way for them to learn about herbs and what kind of recipes they would go in.  I bought some thyme and Samantha kept saying it smelled like lemon.  After looking at the tag, it was lemon thyme!  She was right!!   We also planted basil, cilantro, mint, dill, and my oregano and chives from last year came back!  I also want to plant parsley (italian flat leaf).
