Oh my goodness!  Only 53 days left!!!  Just the thought of the marathon being this close makes my stomach flutter with butterflies!  I’m still on track with my running, sticking to my schedule and doing P90X.  We are running 20 miles Saturday!!  I’m so nervous about this.  Last week I had a cold and the long run was 16 miles.  It was 95 degrees when we set out.  We had plenty of water stops, gatorade on our water belts and ice packs in our hats.  But none of this could help with the heat and my cold.  I only did 15 miles and kept stopping the last couple of miles.  It was very hard and I was so disappointed in myself.  So now there are big doubts with the long run this week.  But I’m running with the running group and Maria and Jen.  Hopefully this group of ladies will keep me going.

I got my new Garmin Forerunner 305 last week.  It has a heart rate monitor and a gps so that I know exactly how far I’m going and what my pace is.  I like it, but don’t really know how to use it.  Hopefully with time, I’ll understand all the whistles and bells.  When I upload my data, it puts my pace and heart rate on a graph, but it just looks like greek to me.

Last weekend we went to Niagara Falls (which was totally awesome!) and along the way, we drove through Scranton, Pa, which is where my marathon is.  It was very mountainous!  It made me even more nervous.  There just aren’t that many hills around here and my treadmill won’t incline.  So, I’m not getting the hill training I need.  I hope it doesn’t come back to bite me in the butt!

The mud run is getting closer and I’m so nervous my husband is going to be deployed.  I need him there to help me!  I don’t think I’ll be able to do it without his support.  I’m keeping my fingers crossed he’ll still be here.
