Well, the holidays are finally over and I’m excited to see what the new year brings.  Most of my runs have moved indoors to the treadmill.  At first I was not happy about that, but now it’s just become part of my routine and I feel lucky to have the treadmill at my house and have that option.  At least I don’t have to worry about joining a gym or running in the snow.  I took a break from p90x and started doing strength training 2 days a week on my own.  I felt like I was getting bored with the videos and knew everything Tony was going to say before he said it!  But now I miss doing them and can definitely see a difference from the break.  I’m thinking about starting them again.  It’s hard to find a replacement and they really work wonders.

I have some exciting news to share!  My success story is going to be featured in th April issue of SHAPE magazine!  They are going to send a photographer out to me for the “after” photo and they said it would probably be of me running since that’s what I like to do.  I’m so nervous and excited.  I hope its something I can be proud of when I see the article.

I also saw myself in the Runner’s World magazine!  It was on the inside front cover and they had an aerial photo of the Steamtown Marathon finish line and there I was!!  I was small and hard to see, but I know that was me!  It was very very very surreal.

I don’t have any upcoming races planned.  I decided not to do the Charleston Marathon.  It was just too far to drive (14 hours) for one weekend and training for a marathon in the winter in NJ is just too hard.  From now on, only spring and/or fall marathons!  I’m trying to find a half marathon to do sometime in March/April.  I’ll keep you posted.

I started a new job this week!!  It’s been so nice to use my brain and feel like I contribute to society once more.  I’ve been getting up at 530 every morning to get my runs in.  It is still so important to fit them into my day.  I know my accomplishments have helped me gain confidence and have allowed me to enter the workforce once more.  It can be very intimidating to go back to work after having been a stay at home mom for so long.

I hope everyone else is doing well and I would love see some comments here on my blog!  I’m never sure if anyone out there is even reading it!  If you try a recipe and like it, (or don’t!), or have something to contribute, I would love to hear from you.
